ABOUT THE internship

We aren’t just church workers — we are world changers.

At Nineteen Hundred Church we believe God has placed us at this time and place On Purpose, For A Purpose. As sons and daughters of Christ, we are formed in God’s image, and given gifts that will benefit the local and global church. Building the body of Christ on earth is essential, and requires community.

There are many internship options around the country. What sets us apart?

First and foremost, we recognize that working in ministry takes an endurance that only a strong personal relationship with God can provide. We will help you identify and practice spiritual habits that will support you now and throughout your life. We will surround you with a community of leaders and pastors that pray for and support you.

Dates and Details

Applications for the 2018-2019 class are due by August 1st. Submit online at this link.

Once your application is received, you will be contacted within two business days to schedule an interview.

The internship prayer service will be held at church on Sunday, August 26th. Orientation will be held on Monday, August 27th, which is the official launch of the term. At the orientation, interns will review and sign our Internship Handbook.

The internship runs for one year, from September 2018 through August 2019.  Applications will remain open throughout the year, and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Interns starting outside of the scheduled start date will not “catch up” with their class, but will instead start at the beginning of the next available term, and continue for one year to complete all six terms.

Interns will “sit and serve” on Sundays (11 AM, 5 PM, 7 PM as scheduled), attend staff meetings on Monday afternoon from 4 – 5 PM, and attend the internship program Monday evenings from 7 – 9 PM.

Cost: There is a minimal monthly Books and Materials fee of $25.00, which will be set up as an automatic monthly payment through PushPay.

Our curriculum includes two corporate-level, professional assessments that identify your personality preferences, strengths, conflict style, and motivational values. We invest in these tools for your personal development, and to teach communication and team-building skills that will benefit you inside and outside of ministry.

As you gain confidence in your leadership style, we provide opportunities within our local church to practice your influence. You may already have a ministry preference, or simply want a general working knowledge of local church operations. Either way, we will get you plugged in with leaders who will mentor and train you.

Why do we take the added discipleship steps in our program? We believe that in order to make disciples, you must be a disciple. We want you to move forward in your path and purpose with confidence. If you are firmly anchored as a disciple, you will be able to meet others where they are, and lead them home.

Yes – you can volunteer at church without being an intern. Our internship is not for workers. It’s for  world-changers. Join us for an internship that makes a difference.
